Garages can be used for more than car storage. Many builders finish garages attached to new homes. This makes them almost like indoor rooms, exept for the big over head door and the car. The only draw back is the cement floor. Now there are flooring companies making floors for garages that are attractive and tough enough to park a car on. Flooring like flexitle flexible garage gives you a comfortable, attractive floor that will withstand the challenges of a garage space. Now you can store household belongings, sports equipment and so on and use the space for a play room, exercise space, hobby room or workshop.
There are different types of garage flooring for you to choose from. You can get rubber garage flooring, vinyl garage flooring, garage flooring tiles, epoxy garage floor coating, flexitle flexible garage flooring and interlocking commercial garage flooring. All of these products make good flooring for a garage area and come in a wide range of patterns and colors. Each flooring has good and bad features, so you need to do a little home work to pick the best one for you. The Internet has web sites available for you to study and get information on all the flooring products along with reviews from experts and the general public. It is nice to know what experiences people had with each product. Most of the on line sites will list companies carrying the floor and when you go to their sites, you will find a list of suppliers in your area.
The advantage of flexible garage flooring is that you can drive a heavy car over it without breaking or cracking the floor. Flexible floors are more comfortable to stand on than a ceramic product or plain cement. A garage floor with flooring installed on it is warmer and easier to keep clean than a cement slab. The different floorings have requirements for their installation. some flooring are easier to install than others. Some of the floors are less expensive to buy and some less expensive to install.
One thing all the floors, including flexitle flexible flooring, have in common is that you need to clean and repair your cement garage floor thoroughly before you apply the new flooring. They all require a level, clean surface to function well. It is well worth the effort to do it correctly. When you are using an otherwise wasted space for family fun, you will see the value of garage flooring.

I have been shopping around for some garage cabinets to help me organize my shop, and I was really impressed with the large variety of cabinets available and especially the variety of materials and finishes. I had just thought metal or pressed board, but that does not do garage cabinets justice! Though plain metal cabinets that look like you high school locker are available, there are a lot of metal options with better finishes.
Of coarse, you can get just metal garage cabinets, usually made of cold rolled steel. But the neat thing is the variety of colors that are available, you don’t have to go with institutional gray unless that what you really want. Many metal cabinets are two-tone, such as red doors on black cabinets, or silver on black, or sandstone on charcoal. If you spend a lot of time in your garage, this is a great way to customize it, especially if you ad the cool checkered garage flooring that is also available.
If you need garage cabinets that are going to get a lot of use (or abuse?) and need to stand up to some serious work, then heavy duty steel cabinets are a great option. Fully welded seams for durability, full length piano hinges and higher weight capacities make steel garage cabinets perfect for a busy shop. A powder coated finish is also great for a lot of use because it helps hide the dirt and doesn’t show fingerprints that are left behind.

All types of garage floor coverings will improve the appearance of your garage, increase its durability and add to the value of your home. A garage floor takes a lot of abuse, quickly becoming an unsightly and smelly mess that can be dangerous to work on. With so many products currently available, anyone can change their garage from an eyesore to a luxury car showroom overnight, while adding years to the life of the original cement by protecting the floor from wear and tear. There are three methods to covering the floor surface: epoxy paint, garage floor mats and garage floor tiles. All three can be installed easily and inexpensively and are simple to maintain.
Epoxy floor paint is used to seal porous cement floors from mold and cracking damage caused by garage spills and ground moisture. It is a must for long-term durability. Used alone it will improve the appearance of your floor, and make cleaning up fast, but painted cement is a hard and slippery surface ill-suited for standing and walking upon. A non-professional can apply epoxy paint, which costs from $2.50-$5 a square foot, but the preparation, mixing and painting is time consuming and difficult. Applied by a professional, the labor costs from $5-$15 and hour on top of supplies. Using additional coverings over a sealed floor will lengthen its life even more.
Garage floor mats are economical, improve the look of the floor and are quick and easy to install. Costing less than $2 a square foot on average, they are the fastest of all three options to put down. They can be purchased online, as a roll or a complete mat, and installation is as simple as cutting them to fit the garage as needed, and then unrolling. They create a seamless look in a smaller garage or can be used only under the car in a larger garage. Manufactured with raised patterns to reduce slipping, they are not a good solution for use on unsealed cement floors, as the ground moisture seeping upwards through the pores of the concrete will be trapped under the non-porous polyvinyl of the mat, causing mold and bacteria to flourish and eroding the floor over time.
